Guile and monday.com

Boards and items, read-only: what is open, overdue and due soon, and what the items' notes and updates say.

What Guile reads from monday.com

Guile reads your boards and their groups, items, subitems, updates, replies and long text columns. A monday.com key can do anything you can do in monday.com, including changing and deleting boards. Guile never does: it only reads. Keep the key private.

How to connect monday.com

  1. In monday.com, click your profile picture, then Developers. The Developer Center opens in a new tab.
  2. Click API token > Show. (Admins can also use Administration > Connections > Personal API token.)
  3. Copy your key. A key is a code that lets Guile read your monday.com.
  4. In Guile, open Apps, choose monday.com and click Connect.
  5. In the secure window from Pipedream (the service Guile uses to connect apps), paste the key and confirm. Pipedream keeps it: Guile never sees it.

If something doesn't work

  • The key is not accepted. Copy it again with no spaces or line breaks before or after it, and paste it once more.
  • It stopped working. Regenerating your key in monday.com turns off the old one at once. Connect again with the new key.
  • Boards are missing. Guile sees only the boards you can see. Ask to be added to the private board, or have someone on it connect.
  • Updates pause until tomorrow. monday.com limits how much an account can read each day (1,000 times on Free, Basic and Standard), shared with your other apps. The limit resets at midnight UTC.
