Projects and tasks

Guile and Asana

Projects and tasks, read-only: what is open, overdue and due soon, and what the tasks and their comments say.

What Guile reads from Asana

Guile reads the projects you choose: each task's status, due date and assignee, and what the tasks and their comments say. Asana's page may say the app can also create, change and delete tasks. Guile never does: it only reads.

How to connect Asana

  1. In Guile, open Apps, choose Asana and click Connect.
  2. A secure window from Pipedream (the service Guile uses to connect apps) opens and takes you to Asana. Log in if Asana asks.
  3. Click Allow. The page may name Pipedream rather than Guile: that is expected.
  4. If Asana says the app needs approval, click Send request, then connect again once your super admin approves it.

If something doesn't work

  • Projects are missing. Guile sees only what you can see. Ask to be added to the private projects, or have someone who is in them connect.
  • Your super admin can't find the request. Asana emails it to them with a Manage app button. The app may be listed as Pipedream.
  • The wrong Asana account connected. Log out of Asana in your browser, then connect again and log in with your work email.
