Projects and tasks
Guile and Jira
Issues and projects on your Jira Cloud site, read-only: what is open, overdue and due soon, and what the issues and their comments say.
What Guile reads from Jira
Guile reads the projects and issues on the site you pick: descriptions, comments, statuses, assignees and due dates. Atlassian's page also asks for permission to create, edit and delete issues and to change project settings. Guile never does: it only reads.
How to connect Jira
- In Guile, open Apps, choose Jira and click Connect.
- A secure window from Pipedream (the service Guile uses to connect apps) opens and takes you to Atlassian. Log in if Atlassian asks.
- Under Use app on, pick your company's Atlassian site, the same way you do for Confluence.
- Click Accept. The page may name Pipedream rather than Guile: that is expected.
If something doesn't work
- Wrong site, or a second site. Each connection covers one site. Connect again and pick the other site.
- Atlassian says your site admin must authorize this app. Your admin turned on Block user apps. Ask a site admin to authorize the app in Atlassian Administration > Apps > your site > Connected apps, or to connect Jira themselves.
- Projects are missing. Guile sees only what you can see. Ask a Jira admin for access, or have someone who can see the project connect.
