Projects and tasks
Guile and Basecamp
To-dos and cards, read-only: what is open, overdue and due soon, and what their notes and comments say.
What Guile reads from Basecamp
Guile reads one Basecamp account: to-dos, messages, docs, comments, card tables and chat in the projects you are on. Basecamp does not limit a connected app to reading: it can act as you, including posting messages and to-dos, in every Basecamp account you belong to. Guile never does: it only reads.
How to connect Basecamp
- In Guile, open Apps, choose Basecamp and click Connect.
- A secure window from Pipedream (the service Guile uses to connect apps) opens and takes you to Basecamp. Sign in if Basecamp asks.
- Click Yes, I'll allow access. The page may name Pipedream rather than Guile: that is expected.
- If you belong to more than one Basecamp account, pick your company's account when Guile asks.
If something doesn't work
- Projects are missing. Guile sees only projects you are on. Ask to be added, or have an account owner join them with Adminland > Access any project, then connect.
- A client's projects show up. If a client invited you to their Basecamp, your sign-in covers their account too. Connect again and pick your own company's account.
- Nothing comes through. Basecamp blocks every read from a canceled or expired account. An account owner can check the plan in Adminland.
