Guile and Grain

Meeting transcript text and metadata.

What Guile reads from Grain

Guile reads the transcript of each recording you can open in Grain, with its title, date and link, and checks again every night. It doesn't read video, highlights, stories or Grain's AI notes. Grain's sign-in also lets a connected app change your recordings, such as their titles, tags and who they are shared with. Guile never does: it only reads.

How to connect Grain

  1. In Guile, open Apps > Add an app and choose Connect on Grain.
  2. In the Pipedream window (the service Guile uses to connect apps), continue to Grain and sign in. Grain's page may name Pipedream, not Guile; that is expected.
  3. Confirm the connection on Grain's screen.

If something doesn't work

  • A recording is missing: Guile reads only what the person who connected can open in Grain. Share it with them, or have its owner connect.
  • A recording shows no text: Grain refused its transcript or has not made it yet. Guile skips it and asks again the next night.
  • Guile says Grain's authorization expired: choose Disconnect on Grain in Guile, then connect again.
