Guile and Fathom

Meeting transcript text and metadata.

What Guile reads from Fathom

Guile reads the transcript of each meeting you can see in Fathom, with its title, date and share link, and checks for new meetings every night. It doesn't read recordings, Fathom's summaries, highlights or action items. Fathom's sign-in also lets a connected app set up automatic notifications and request recording downloads. Guile never does: it only reads.

How to connect Fathom

  1. In Guile, open Apps > Add an app and choose Connect on Fathom.
  2. In the Pipedream window (the service Guile uses to connect apps), continue to Fathom and sign in. Fathom's page may name Pipedream, not Guile; that is expected.
  3. Review what Fathom shows and choose Authorize.

If something doesn't work

  • A meeting is missing: Guile reads only the meetings the person who connected recorded or can see as shared. Someone else's private meeting stays private until its owner shares it or connects their own Fathom.
  • A new meeting has no text yet: Fathom writes the transcript once the call is processed. Guile picks it up on its next nightly read.
  • Guile says Fathom's authorization expired: choose Disconnect on Fathom in Guile, then connect again.
