Guile and Gong

Recorded calls: who spoke and what they said, tied to the client account in your CRM, read-only.

What Guile reads from Gong

Guile reads your recorded calls: who spoke and what they said, with each call's title, date, people and the client account Gong links it to. Gong's screen may say the app can get recording files. Guile never does: it only reads, and it skips private calls and calls with only your own team.

How to connect Gong

  1. If you are not a Gong tech admin, do this next to one: Gong asks for their sign-in in step 3.
  2. In Guile, open Apps > Add an app and choose Connect on Gong.
  3. In the Pipedream window (the service Guile uses to connect apps), continue to Gong and sign in as the tech admin.
  4. Review what Gong lists and choose Authorize.

If something doesn't work

  • Gong won't let you approve: only a tech admin can. Ask yours to sign in, or to make you a tech admin under Workspaces and permissions in your team member settings.
  • Recent calls are not in Guile yet: Guile reads a call a day after it happens, once Gong has finished its transcript, so a new call shows up a day or two later.
  • Older calls are not all there yet: Gong allows each company 10,000 requests a day across every tool connected to it, so Guile reads at most about 1,000 calls a night, and a long history arrives over a few nights, newest first.
  • Calls are not tied to a client: Gong links a call to a client account only when Gong is connected to your CRM, such as Salesforce or HubSpot.
  • Gong shows an error after you approve: write to hello@goguile.com and we will check it.
