Guile and Intercom
Customer conversations, with your team's replies and internal notes, and who is waiting on a reply, read-only.
What Guile reads from Intercom
Guile reads your conversations (customer messages, your team's replies and internal notes, but not bot or AI answers) plus the names of the people and companies they're about. Intercom's approval screen may say Guile could also reply to conversations or change contacts. Guile never does: it only reads.
How to connect Intercom
- In Guile, open Apps and choose Intercom.
- Click Connect. A secure window opens from Pipedream, the service Guile uses to connect apps.
- Sign in to Intercom. If your workspace is hosted in Europe or Australia, pick that region on the sign-in page.
- If you belong to more than one workspace, check that the right one is chosen.
- Read what Intercom shows and click Authorize access. Guile never sees your password.
If something doesn't work
- Intercom refuses because your plan isn't active: restart your paid subscription, then connect again.
- You can't approve the app: ask an admin to turn on Can install, configure and delete apps for you in Settings > Workspace > Teammates, or to connect it themselves.
- Signing in with Google fails: your workspace may be hosted in Europe or Australia. Sign in with your email and password instead, and choose your region on the sign-in page.
