Guile and Coda
The docs you choose, read-only: the words on each page, and the tasks in tables that track work.
What Guile reads from Coda
Guile reads the docs you choose: the words on each page, and the tasks in tables that track work (status, owner and due date). A key restricted to reading can only read. A key without that restriction can also change and delete your docs. Guile never does: it only reads.
How to connect Coda
- In Coda (now Superhuman Docs), click your avatar and name in the lower-left corner, then Account settings. You can also go to docs.superhuman.com/account.
- Scroll down to API settings and click Generate API token.
- Name it "Guile" and add a restriction so it can only read (Read). Don't limit it to one doc: Guile needs to see your list of docs.
- Click Generate API token, then Copy token. Coda shows the key only once.
- In Guile, open Apps, choose Coda and click Connect.
- In the secure window from Pipedream (the service Guile uses to connect apps), paste the key and confirm. Pipedream keeps it: Guile never sees it.
If something doesn't work
- The key isn't accepted. Coda shows a key only once. Make a new one and paste it with no spaces before or after it.
- No docs appear. The key is probably limited to one doc. Make a new key that only reads, without choosing a doc.
- A doc is missing. Guile lists only docs you have opened. Open it once in Coda, or have someone who works in it connect.
- A big doc never arrives. Coda can't share docs over 125 MB with other apps. The doc's Statistics panel says when that is the case.
