Guile and HighLevel

Conversations and opportunities, one location at a time.

What Guile reads from HighLevel

Guile reads your conversations' messages (the last 30 days first, then new ones within minutes), your open opportunities, every opportunity's stage and value for deal summaries, and your team's names. HighLevel's one-click screen asks to read and change contacts, conversations and opportunities, and to send messages. Guile never does: it only reads. A private key with only the read permissions above can only read.

How to connect HighLevel

  1. In Guile, open Apps > Add an app and choose Connect on HighLevel.
  2. In the Pipedream window (the service Guile uses to connect apps), continue to HighLevel and sign in. HighLevel's page may name Pipedream, not Guile; that is expected.
  3. Choose the sub-account your team works in.
  4. Review what HighLevel lists and choose Allow.

With a private key instead (HighLevel calls it a Private Integration; no Pipedream window): in HighLevel, open Settings > Private Integrations > Create new Integration, name it Guile, turn on only conversations.readonly, conversations/message.readonly, opportunities.readonly, contacts.readonly and users.readonly, and copy the key (HighLevel shows it once). In Guile, on the HighLevel card choose Connect another way > Set up HighLevel with a token, paste the key into Private integration token, add the Location ID (in HighLevel under Settings > Business Profile), and choose Connect HighLevel.

If something doesn't work

  • HighLevel won't let you add the app: ask an agency admin to connect, or to make you an admin of the sub-account.
  • You picked the wrong sub-account: choose Disconnect on HighLevel in Guile, then connect again and pick the right one.
  • With a private key, Guile says HighLevel denied message history: edit the integration in HighLevel, turn on conversations/message.readonly, and connect again.
  • Your team is missing under Coworkers: a private key also needs users.readonly.
