Guile and Close

Opportunities with their values, notes, call notes, meetings and emails, read-only.

What Guile reads from Close

Guile reads your opportunities, notes, calls (with transcripts), emails, texts and meeting notes, plus the names of leads, contacts, pipelines and users. Close keys can also change and delete your data. Guile never does: it only reads.

How to connect Close

  1. In Close, open Settings > Developer > API Keys and choose + New API Key. A key is a code that lets Guile read your Close account.
  2. Name it "Guile" so you can find it later, then create it.
  3. Copy the key now. Close shows it only once.
  4. In Guile, open Apps > Add an app and choose Connect on Close.
  5. In the Pipedream window (the service Guile uses to connect apps), paste the key and choose Save. Guile never sees the key.

If something doesn't work

  • Pipedream says the key is wrong: copy it again with no spaces before or after. If you lost it, make a new key, since Close shows each key once.
  • Guile is missing leads or details: Guile sees what the key's maker sees. Make the key as a Close admin and connect again.
  • The connection stops working: the key may have been deleted in Close, or the person who made it left your team. Make a new key and connect again.
